I know this isn't usually what I post, but I wanted to share this with you guys. There is a lot of news about ransomware this month, and I wanted to share this stuff with everyone. There are new tactics for ransomware gangs and more. The ransomware gang LockBit attacked a children's hospital, which caused delays in receiving lab and imaging results and longer wait times for patients. LockBit claims that this was conducted by a rouge affiliate that broke LockBits' policies. This led to a free decrypter being given to the children's hospital. LockBit members have been known to steal data during attacks, and it isn't clear if any data was stolen or if the data is being misused in any way. Some more news about ransomware is that the BlackCat/AlphV ransomware gang is evolving its extorsion tactics. They are now cloning a victim's website and using it to leak stolen data. There is also some good news about ransomware. This includes BitDefender and law enforcement releasing a decryptor for the MegaCortex ransomware.
